Mekakushe
Mekakushe is a Japanese female singer-songwriter known for her “mysteriously transparent” voice. She writes, composes, sings, and plays piano, blending emotional lyricism with a delicate sense of sound.
Beginning classical piano at the age of three, she gradually gravitated toward pop music. Her sound combines electronica-based production in recordings with classical or band-style live performances, constantly expanding her musical scope.
In April 2021, she independently released her first album *Hikari Mitai ni Susumitai*, which drew attention from early listeners and was featured on multiple official streaming playlists. Despite being unsigned, her work was selected for a Kao Laurier TV commercial and was praised by actors Takumi Saitoh and Tina Tamashiro on their radio programs.
In November 2023, she made her major debut under Bandai Namco Music Live and founded her own label, **akogare records**, through which she launched five consecutive monthly releases and held a sold-out solo concert at Shibuya [WWW](http://WWW). In 2024, she provided the ending and insert songs for the TV anime *Kowloon Generic Romance*.
In addition to her solo career, mekakushe is active as a songwriter, contributing music to *Himitsu no AiPri*, *Shinapshu*, *Dempagumi.inc*, *THE IDOLM@STER*, and *Nagase Yuka*.
Her label name, *akogare records*, reflects her lifelong theme of “yearning” — a word symbolizing the admiration and ideals she expresses through her music, with the hope that her label itself will one day become an object of admiration for others.
